简介:There has been a drop of more than £2,500 since last year’s Guide in the average starting salaries in graduate-level jobs following degrees in librarianship and information science. But no subject’s graduates were paid as well in lower-level employment. Once again, small numbers are largely responsible for the fluctuations: only half of the eight universities in the table admitted enough entrants in 2010 for a reliable entry score to be compiled. There were only 521 applications to study information services in March 2012 – a drop of 13 per cent on the previous year. The top two universities in the table are unchanged for the fourth year in a row, but Brighton takes third place for the first time and is the leading post-1992 university. Second-placed Sheffield has the best score for research, but Loughborough has the highest entry standards and the most satisfied students. King’s College London actually produced the top results in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, but does not have undergraduate courses in this field so does not appear in the table. Northumbria, in sixth place, has by far the best employment score, with 80 per cent of graduates going straight into graduate-level jobs or further study. Only Sheffield came within ten percentage points, while more than half of the universities in the table were below 50 per cent for “positive destinations” of their graduates. This contributes to an unemployment rate of 14 per cent, the second-highest in any subject. There are five fewer universities than there were in the 2006 edition of the Guide. University College London, which was in third place last year, is the latest to drop out, but the arrival of Leeds ensures that numbers have not declined further. There is no representative in Scotland, and only Aberystwyth from Wales.以下是2013年times英国大学排名图书与信息管理学专业排名。
